The MK2554 is a continuous conduction mode (CCM) power factor correction (PFC) controller for high performance AC/DC power systems. With multimode control strategy, the MK2554 can achieve ultralow THD and near unity power factor under different operation conditions. The switching frequency is internally fixed and frequency jittering for Reduced EMI Signature. The MK2554 operates over a wide supply voltage range from 11V to 30V, which is suitable for a variety of application scenarios. MK2554 has added feedback and sense pin open/short circuit protection functions to avoid circuit issues in the converter. Numerous system-level protection features include peak current limit, input brown-out detection, output over-voltage protection and under-voltage detection. Soft-Start limits boost current during start-up. A trimmed internal reference provides accurate protection thresholds. An internal clamp limits the gate drive voltage to 15.5 V.
